Burg Layer Hölle

Riesling 2020

The aroma of ripe peach, so typical of Riesling, is easy to detect. Citrus notes and an elegant minerality also characterize the aroma. The acidity is refreshing and rounds off the impression of a classic Riesling. A wine with excellent structure, which offers good storage potential.

Vineyard

Burg Layer Hölle – the vineyards with south-southeast orientation border directly on the village of Burg Layen and have a slope of two to 25% at an altitude of 195 to 290 meters. Loam and loess as well as quartzite and stone characterize the soil of this single vineyard.

Characteristic

The long aging period of 10 months on the fine lees – partly in traditional barrels and in steel tanks – led to the development of a variety of aromas and the complexity of the wine.

Food Pairing

We were delighted with the wine along with monkfish medallions with porcini mushrooms and a Riesling sauce.
