Exceptional Vineyards

“Getting the best every day out of these individual locations with the unique terroir of the Nahe – that is a major feat. And a great gift.”

Oliver Dries

Bingerbrücker Römerberg

Römerberg

The view of the Nahe estuary is as impressive as the terroir of the vineyard. Over a total of 6.83 ha, the heat retaining soil provides optimum conditions. North-west location at an elevation of 150 to 185 m with a slope of 5 to 40%.

Soils combining sandy loam, loess and quartzite with a high minerality produce powerful, complex wines with a subtle fruit.

Burg Layer
Hölle

Hölle

The vineyards, which face south-south-east, are immediately adjacent to the village of Burg Layen and are on a slope of 2 to 25% at an elevation of 195 to 290 m. We grow mainly Riesling on our 4.7 ha.

Soils with loess, loam, stone and quartzite produce full, fruity, zesty wines.

Burg Layer Schlossberg

Schlossberg

The south-facing location lies within sight of the estate, at a height of 155 to 216 m. Alongside relatively level areas, some of the land here can be as steep as 40%. Most of the property, covering 2.4 ha, is planted with Riesling.

Gravelly, sandy loam plus elements of red rock, quartzite and slate in the soils produce long-lasting, delicate wines with a striking minerality and fruit acidity.
