ORANGE WINE
SITE AND VINIFICATION
This wine is a special cuvée of Chardonnay, Auxerrois, Scheurebe and Pinot Gris with a small proportion of Riesling. After harvesting the fully ripe grapes in autumn, spontaneous maceration took place for some of the grapes. The remaining grapes were fermented as whole bunches over a period of around two months (maceration carbonique) – a traditional process that has been used since ancient times. Both processes release additional aromas and colouring substances from the skins, which give the wine its special colour and character. The wine is aged and matured for six months, partly in wooden barrels and partly in stainless steel tanks.
