Bingerbrücker Römerberg – the view of the Nahe estuary is just as impressive as the terroir of the vineyard. On a total of 6.83 hectares, the heat-retaining soil provides optimal conditions. North-west facing vineyard at an altitude of 150 to 185 metres with a slope of 5 to 40%.
Despite challenging conditions for the 2022 vintage, the quality of the Pinot Blanc grapes from this site was once again completely convincing and we were able to harvest outstanding grapes. After spontaneous fermentation – i.e. the fermentation process took place without the addition of pure yeasts – in large barrels, the wine matured for ten months on the fine lees in oak barrels and a further six months in the bottle.
This Pinot Blanc impresses with its full body and fascinating variety of flavours. A bouquet of wild thyme and a pronounced herbal-spicy note unfolds on the nose, adding freshness and complexity. On the palate, the wine has a cool note that makes it particularly refreshing. The finish is characterised by a caramel sweetness that harmoniously rounds off the overall impression and ensures a long aftertaste. A hint of honeydew melon completes the flavour spectrum and gives the wine a subtle fruitiness that makes it particularly interesting and versatile. The wine offers ageing potential for many years.
This complex Pinot Blanc is an excellent accompaniment to many dishes. We loved the pairing with lemon linguine and scallops.
